
Felipe Garcia
Student Regent Felipe Garcia was appointed to the ²ÝÝ®ÊÓÆµ by Gov. Katie Hobbs on May 6, 2025.
Regent Garcia is a student at the University of Arizona’s W.A. Franke Honors College pursuing dual bachelor’s degrees in political science and creative intelligence and innovation, along with a minor in French.
He serves as a youth commissioner on Governor Hobbs’ Commission on Service and Volunteerism, and was recently a Courage Fellow with GIFFORDS, the gun violence prevention group founded by former Congresswoman Gabrielle Giffords. Regent Garcia previously served as Undersecretary General of International Coordination with Arizona Model United Nations and as the presidential chief of staff for the Associated Students of the University of Arizona.
A trilingual speaker, Regent Garcia is focused on expanding opportunities for students in the Arizona-Mexico region and improving educational attainment, support services and development opportunities for students.
